Black Lives Matter Brussels

Black Lives Matter Brussel (foto: Jochem Oomen)

One year ago, at Sunday 7 June 2020, Brussels had its own Black Lives Matter protest. It started at the Place Poelaert, in front of the Palace of Justice. 10 000 protestors participated in this demonstration, right after the first coronavirus lockdown. I made this set about the peacefull part of the demonstration. Later, some persons from other organisations, joined the gathering for different purposes. After I left the protest, things went wrong. But, let’s keep in mind that the calm part was a historical fact: an outcry against racism. Let’s hope that things will get better for minorities in Belgium, Europe and the world in general.
