Web design memorial website

An optimistic attitude to life, a rich array of artistic creations and a life in Greece and the Netherlands. That was Marisoula Katarachia. Despite struggling with the challenges of osteogenesis imperfecta, her life motto remained carpe diem or seize the day. After her much too early death, she left behind a rich collection of music fragments, poems, photographs and designer designs.

Her family asked me to create a memory website that could include her biography and her creations. This resulted in an extensive website with both texts, images and videos. Also, the website is trilingual: the content is available in Dutch, English and Greek.

I built the website using the WordPress theme and builder Divi. Texts and images were created by Marisoula and her mother Klairy Katarachia. WPML software provided the website’s trilingual technology. This site was completed in November 2024.

Are you interested in the works of Marisoula? Or would you like to learn more about osteogenesis imperfecta? Then check out the website: https://marisoula.com/

This says Klairy about me:

“A site where Marisoula’s story, her art work, music and photos would become accessible to a large audience. That was what I really wanted. My expectations have been completely realized! In a beautiful form, easily accessible and trilingual!”

“This is what I appreciated the most during our journey: the good cooperation, quick responses to questions and the pleasant video meetings. I will miss those! Jochem is honest and inventive, someone who quickly has an idea how something can be realized, socially involved and pleasant to deal with, can explain well how things work and what to look out for.”

“I would of course recommend him to other people, because within a short time he realized what I dreamed of, even more complete than I could imagine. With his practical help and eye for detail it turned out beautifully, a tribute to Marisoula! It was a very pleasant cooperation, which now has such a beautiful result, thank you very much for everything!”

– Klairy Katarachia, mother of Marisoula
